-

Policy Practicalities:
1. The Examinations Office of Excellence Junior School is responsible for administering and managing all examinations in full compliance with the procedures, rules, and regulations specified in the Cambridge Handbook.
2. Throughout this policy, “you” and “your” refer to any candidate who intends to register, or is already registered, to take a Cambridge examination at Excellence Junior School, Centre EG448.
1. Centre Information
1.1 Excellence Junior School EG448 is an “Independent Centre” working directly with Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE). All our operations are supervised by Cambridge Egypt. The Centre doesn’t work under the umbrella of the Egyptian Ministry of Education. And thus, certificates issued by Cambridge in the name of “Excellence Junior School” are not stamped by such Ministry.
1.2 Excellence Junior School is formally authorised by the Sudanese Embassy to conduct examinations for Sudanese students.
1.3 Excellence Junior School, as a Cambridge-approved centre, is not permitted to examine Egyptian nationals. The centre is authorised to work exclusively with Sudanese students and other non-Egyptian candidates who are taking the examinations as expatriates.
1.4 Our assessments are mainly designed for candidates studying at Excellence Junior School. However, some candidates who do not attend our school or who are studying at a Cambridge International School – registered as online may want to enter for assessments. These are known as ‘private candidates’.
1.5 As homeschooling is not legally recognised in Egypt, Cambridge candidates cannot be entered under a “private” classification. Accordingly, all students are registered under the centre name Excellence Junior School, in compliance with Egyptian regulations.
1.6 External candidates registered to take exams at the Centre are provided only with Cambridge certificates which are issued by Cambridge. The academic study sequence and end of year certificate are only issued to Excellence Junior School regular students and not externals.
1.7 All students holding “Dual Sudanese-Egyptian Nationalities” are required to register with, and apply to Egyptian Universities only under the Sudanese nationality. It’s prohibited and not acceptable to register with a Sudanese nationality and later apply to Egyptian Universities with their Egyptian nationality.
2. Registration for the Exams
2.1 All candidates must select the correct syllabus titles, syllabus codes, and option codes when registering for any examination session.
2.2 It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that all selected entries are accurate. Excellence Junior School will not be held responsible for any incorrect subject or option selections made by the candidate. No refund will be granted in this case.
2.3 Candidates are advised to review their entries carefully before submitting their application to prevent delays or errors in processing.
2.4 Registering with Excellence Junior School and another centre is permitted; however, Excellence Junior School is not responsible for arranging or resolving any timetable clashes that may occur with the other centre. This applies whether the examinations are from the same awarding body or from different boards, and the centre holds no responsibility for any resulting conflicts.
2.5 By registering with us and submitting entries, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions, processes and procedures set out in this policy and all the centre registration documents and Agreements we issue.
3. Changes to Examination Entries
3.1 Any amendments to examination entries—such as subject changes, option updates, or correction of details—must be requested in writing before the final submission deadline.
3.2 Any changes or amendments to exam selections requested after submission will incur additional fees, as stated in the current price list.
3.3 Excellence Junior School reserves the right to decline any amendment request received after the official deadline.
3.4 You cannot transfer an entry from one exam session to a future exam or to an exam at a different level unless you are carrying forward a result.
4. Access Arrangements
4.1 Access arrangements are pre-exam arrangements that minimise access barriers for candidates with special educational needs, disabilities or temporary injuries/illnesses. Used appropriately, access arrangements can enable candidates with specific needs to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding without changing the demands of the assessment.
4.2 Cambridge Assessment International Education will make arrangements for candidates with special requirements (e.g., extra time or adapted papers).
4.3 You must tell us as soon as possible if you have any special requirements because they need to be sent to Cambridge Assessment International Education 8–12 weeks before the exam (depending on what is required and which exam you are taking). Some exams may need up to 3 months’ notice.
4.4 Candidates with special requirements must complete their examination registration first, and then submit their access arrangements application, as the candidate number is required for the application process.
5. Statement of Entry
5.1 Statements of entry are your record of entries, both before and during the assessment. They show the candidate’s details, their syllabuses and entry options, and the dates and sessions of each of their timetabled exams.
5.2 Statements of Entry will be sent to the email address provided in the candidate’s application form.
5.3 It is the sole responsibility of the candidate to ensure they have received their Statement of Entry and to print a copy to be used throughout the examination period.
5.4 Candidates must bring the printed copy of their Statement of Entry to each examination.
5.5 Excellence Junior School will not be held responsible if a candidate fails to collect, print, or present their Statement of Entry and consequently misses an examination.
6. Payment of Fees
6.1 All examination fees must be paid in full before the registration deadline.
6.2 Failure to make payment within the stated period may result in the cancellation of your registration process.
6.3 Additional charges apply for late registration, subject changes, or re-entries.
6.4 All payments are non-refundable under any circumstances.
7. Exams Timetable
7.1 The examination timetable is included in your Statement of Entry, and it is your responsibility to review it carefully and follow all listed dates and times. Excellence Junior School will also issue reminder notifications via the communications channels as a supportive measure; however, the primary responsibility remains with the candidate.
7.2 Excellence Junior School is responsible for informing candidates of the dates and times of all practical examinations, including ICT, Computer Science, and A-Level science practical exams, as well as all speaking examinations for all languages.
7.3 Excellence Junior School will inform you prior to the examination session of the exact starting times for the AM and PM sessions, in accordance with local Egypt time.
7.4 You must take all components of an exam on the dates specified. If you are absent from one component, Cambridge will issue a “No Result” on your final certificate.
8. Exam Day
8.1 Candidates are required to purchase and wear the official centre uniform.
8.2 Candidates are required to bring their complete set of permitted stationery to every examination. The centre bears no responsibility for supplying stationery, and borrowing from other candidates is strictly prohibited.
8.3 You must bring a photo ID on the day of the test. The ID must be an original, government-issued ID (e.g., passport).
8.4 Candidates who fail to present their ID or their Candidate Identification Form at the examination venue will not be allowed to take the examination and will consequently forfeit their result.
8.5 Candidates who arrive late but before the Key Time will be allowed to enter the examination and will be given the full allocated time to complete the paper.
8.6 Candidates who arrive at or after the Key Time will not be permitted to enter the examination.
8.7 The school will give you a copy of the Notice to Candidates, which tells you how you must behave in the exam. You must read it carefully. If you do not follow the instructions, you will be stopped from taking the exam, or you will not receive a result.
8.8 You must not keep any electronic items, such as mobile phones, digital sound recorders, mp3 players, cameras, etc, in your possession during the exam.
8.9 The use of offensive, rude or racist language in your examination answers will not be accepted. Your examination will not be marked or a result given if the examiner finds language of this nature. Cambridge Assessment International Education’s decision on this is final.
8.10 If you do not feel well on the day of the exam or think that your work may be affected for any other reason, tell the school immediately. If appropriate, the Excellence Junior School will report this to the Cambridge Assessment International Education for consideration when deciding your result.
8.11 You must not take question papers, notes or any other exam material out of the exam room.
8.12 Key Times are a defined point in a timetabled session when candidates must be in the exam or under Full Centre Supervision. Candidates must take their exams in the correct timetabled session.
8.13 Full Centre Supervision is a defined type of supervision for candidates that is conducted by trained members of staff at the centre. If candidates are not in their exam at the Key Time, they must be in a room under Full Centre Supervision until the Key Time has passed, or until the exam starts.
8.14 You must follow the centre’s instructions regarding Key Time and comply with full centre supervision when required.
9. Malpractice
9.1 Malpractice is any action that breaks Cambridge regulations and potentially threatens the integrity of the exams and certificates.
9.2 Malpractice can happen before, during or after timetabled exams or other assessments.
9.3 The following are examples of malpractice by candidates:
9.3.1 Bringing unauthorised materials into the exam room or accessing unauthorised materials during the exam.
9.3.2 Disruptive behaviour in the exam room (including talking or attempting to talk to other candidates and/or using offensive language).
9.3.3 Copying from another candidate.
9.3.4 Collusion.
9.3.5 Plagiarism: not giving sources and/or submitting another person’s work as if it is their own.
9.3.6 Looking for, getting, receiving, exchanging or passing on confidential or fake exam material in any way.
9.3.7 Not following an invigilator’s instructions.
9.3.8 Not following supervision rules designed to keep the exams secure.
9.3.9 Stealing another person’s work, deliberately destroying another person’s work, or including threatening, offensive or obscene material in scripts or coursework.
9.3.10 Impersonation: pretending to be someone else, or arranging for another person to take their place in an exam.
9.3.11 Altering, falsifying or misrepresenting any results information, including certificates.
9.3.12 Behaving in a way that undermines the integrity of the exam.
9.4 The centre will report any suspected malpractice to Cambridge, providing all relevant information. In such cases, you may not receive a result.
9.5 After the examination, you must not post or publish anything about your exam on social media. Doing so may lead to an investigation by Cambridge.
10. Exam Results
10.1 Your results will be available from the Results Service website between the dates specified. Excellence Junior School will give you access to this site. Cambridge Assessment International Education may amend result information under exceptional circumstances.
10.2 If you breach our rules and regulations for any of the components, you may not receive the result for the entire exam or qualification.
10.3 If you think that your result is not correct, please contact Excellence Junior School without delay. We will give you details of the enquiries and appeals process and the related fees.
10.4 Cambridge Assessment International Education allows candidates an “EAR” Enquiry about the result service after the results are out (Result recheck). This is a paid service. Detailed information regarding the “EAR” service will be provided by the Centre.
11. Certificates Authentication
11.1 The result you obtain from the Cambridge Results website is an “Electronic Statement of Results”. This document can be authenticated. You must print it and bring it to the centre, where we will stamp it. After that, you may take it to the British Council in Egypt to obtain the official golden stamp. Please note that this process may take up to two weeks, and the result must still be visible on the Cambridge Results website for the British Council to validate it.
11.2 After approximately one month, the centre will receive the hard copy of your certificate from Cambridge. This document is called the “Statement of Results”. The centre will authenticate it through Cambridge Egypt. Once this process is complete, you may collect your hard copy and, if required, have it authenticated at the British Council Egypt and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
11.3 After an additional month, Cambridge will issue your final certificate, known as the “International General Certificate of Secondary Education”. You may collect this certificate from the centre once it arrives.
11.4 Cambridge certificate records and confirms a candidate’s final results. A certificate is separate from a statement of results. Until certificates are issued, Cambridge reserve the right to change a candidate’s results.
11.5 Your Cambridge Assessment International Education certificate is an important document containing some security features. If you lose your certificate and need to prove your result, you can apply for a “certifying statement”, which provides an official confirmation of your result. An additional fee is payable for this service.
12. Complaints
12.1 Cambridge does not communicate directly with candidates or their parents/guardians regarding the administration of examinations. All communication must be made through the centre, and you are required to contact the centre for every aspect related to your exams.
12.2 If you wish to raise a complaint concerning any stage of the examinations, it must be submitted in writing to the Exams Officer via email. If you would like to discuss the matter first, you may contact the Exams Officer by phone or arrange a meeting.
12.3 If you are not satisfied with the way the Exams Officer has handled your issue, or if you wish to appeal the outcome, you may contact the Head of Centre via email.
